  • 8 Hours Day trip to Ourika valley

    In the morning, we pick you up at your hotel. We start our day leaving behind Marrakech and heading to Ourika. The landscapes on the road are spectacular passing through a road that crosses the mountains of the high atlas. Along the way, there are towns that still preserve the traditional life style far from the hasty paste of the city. It is a very beautiful journey with beautiful views. While touring the amazing landscapes of the area, we will take the chance to discover some of the traditional markets on the route, such as « Tnin Souk» on Mondays or « Aghbalou Souk » on Thursdays.
    First stop will be in a traditional house of a Berber family that offers a typical homemade berber breakfast which consists of mint tea with bread, honey, butter and olive oil.
    Our private Ourika valley day trip from Marrakech will give you the opportunity to go on a camel ride and take amazing pictures near the valley. After that we will continue our day trip to Setti Fatma to discover the 7 ourika Waterfulls. You will have free time to walk through the valley. You will enjoy around two hours hike of Setti Fatma waterfalls with a local guide.
    After that you will saver a delicious lunch in a nice restaurant with a beautiful view over the river or a homemade meal in a typical berber House made by our best cook Mohamed at his home.
    Once back to marrakech we stop at an Argan Cooperative that is run by women. Then, you witness the process of grinding and pressing of the Argan nut to make Argan oil, Argan butter, and cosmetic products. The Second stop is at traditional rug and jewelry Shop to explore artisanal berber products and you can also take this opportunity to buy some gifts and souvenirs for your loved ones.

    If you want to get out of the city and immerse yourself in the authentic and rural part of Morocco. Our day trip to Imlil will start at 09:00 am from your Hotel by private vehicle for 2 hours driving to the Moulay Brahim Gorge. Then the Berber village of Asni which is very popular for its weekly market to cross to Imlil, a bright green valley that remains cool and lush even during the hottest days of summer. Imlil is a small village located at the foot of Morocco’s highest mountains, including Toubkal Mountain. Arrival at Aremd (1843 m) located in the upper foothills of the Western High Atlas, main path with streams and paths branching off in all directions to have our lunch which will be served in a Berber house in the village Aremd. Afterwards, you can take a short walk before returning to Marrakech.

MARRAKECH DAY TRIP TO THREE VALLEYS

We meet with you at your accommodation in Marrakech to journey into a huge adventure playground for hikers, skiing enthusiasts, mountain bikers and nature lovers. Your 50min journey takes you through the rural suburbs of Marrakech until you arrive in the Ourika valley with unique mountain villages, sometimes indistinguishable from the mountain and sights and experiences to make you smile.

On arrival in the Ourika Valley visit a traditional Berber family home where the making of traditional mint tea is demonstrated and for you to enjoy with some local honey, home-baked bread, and olive oil. After tea follows the winding river flowing between rocky crags, which in turn are straddled with wooden swing bridges for accessing the multitude of tagine stands and restaurants to arrive at the settlement of Setti Fatmia where you meet with your private local professional hiking guide for an approx 1hr 30mins trek to view the seven waterfalls.

On your descent enjoy lunch in one of the many river cafes with tables located in the shallow river bed to cool your feet before departing to climb by 4×4 from 4,922 ft to 6,550 ft arriving at the mountain ski resort village of Oukaimeden and Berber villages of Sidi Far, offering memorable panoramic High Atlas Mountain views and optional viewing of pre-historic rock carvings.

This full-day trip of the Atlas Mountains and Three Valleys begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Marrakech around 9 a.m.

It takes around an hour to go to the first valley, Ourika Valley. With beautiful valleys, breathtaking views, and cascading waterfalls, the view is stunning. We make a quick stop in the settlement of Setti Fatma, which is home to seven waterfalls.

​ Then we continue to an argan cooperative maintained by Berber women in the area. They demonstrate how the golden argan oil is extracted from the argan nuts.

Next we drive to the second valley, Oukaimeden valley. We pass traditional Berber villages on the way. Oukaimeden contains a diverse cultural history as well as prehistoric rock art sites. Oukaimeden is a ski resort containing Africa’s highest ski lift during the winter months.

Last stop is the Asni Valley, the third valley. With a cluster of Berber settlements located around the valley river, the region is known for Fruit trees (like: apples, walnut, almonds, peaches etc).

We return to Marrakech after touring all three valleys and drop you off at your hotel or riad around 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
